Why is the headphone jack on Motorola two way radios too small for regular headphones?

Q. Is it because they want you to buy their special smaller one? is there some way i can get around this without paying $40 for a special jack? all i need is an adaptor that has a line in for the small jack and plug in for regular headphones

A. It's not intended for use with "regular headphones".
It is for a speaker/mic or a headset with those two functions.

Look at the owner's manual to find out what types of accessories are
appropriate for the specific model you have; they are not all the same.

How can i write a program for Motorola radio like Gm950 with C++?
Q. i want create a program for this radios for change frequence of them without use their program that is available

A. I don't think the GM950 is designed to run user written software, all its own is held in prom. If it does allow it then you would need access to the libraries used to control the radio or a complete Interface Specification so that you could derive your own. Then it would just be a case of calling the required functions.
