Q. I work a small convention and we have a set of older Motorola TalkAbout Distance Radios. I am looking to get a headset that has both of the plugs in one, but I am not sure of the distance between the inputs and I want to make sure before I buy.
A. You need to buy accessories specifically designed for them - the connectors seem proprietary to Motorola.
Why is the headphone jack on Motorola two way radios too small for regular headphones?
Q. Is it because they want you to buy their special smaller one? is there some way i can get around this without paying $40 for a special jack? all i need is an adaptor that has a line in for the small jack and plug in for regular headphones
A. It's not intended for use with "regular headphones".
It is for a speaker/mic or a headset with those two functions.
Look at the owner's manual to find out what types of accessories are
appropriate for the specific model you have; they are not all the same.
